A letter to the Buccaneer family

Comments

October 25, 2017

To our Buccaneer family,

How ’bout them Bucs!

It is certainly a wonderful time to be an ETSU Buccaneer. I could not be more proud of our ETSU student-athletes and how they represent this wonderful university each day with their commitment in the classroom, their outstanding effort in competition and their outreach into our community. The coaches that lead our teams, along with our tremendous student body, fans, alumni, faculty and staff comprise a Buccaneer family that is second to none in college athletics. It is an honor to serve this family.

I write to you today humbled by the opportunity to work alongside some of the best people I have ever known. The last few weeks have afforded me the chance to visit with our entire athletic department staff, officials from the Southern Conference, and many of the visionary leaders on this incredible campus. I shared with each of them what an honor it is to represent the standard that is ETSU Athletics and to invest in the lives of our Buccaneer student-athletes. It takes the entire family to realize this standard and I want to thank you for every measure of support you have offered our program in the past and will offer in the future. The role you play in our Buccaneer family is greatly appreciated.

As the fall semester continues, I look forward to visiting with you at our competitions, special events, reunions and other university functions. Please know the true gratitude that is felt by each of us in Blue and Gold, and how we embrace the opportunity to make you proud with our passion, effort and performance. The ETSU Buccaneer standard is high because that is what you deserve, and most importantly, that is what our student-athletes deserve.

Thank you for making the Bucs better each day. Please feel free to contact me anytime I can serve you at 423-439-4343.

Go Bucs!
